Alphine Escape

It is amazing how you can escape the hustle of everyday life. Simply wake up, pack your bags, meet your friends and together head to the mountains for a ski trip. And that’s exactly what we did.

Our adventure began long before we hit the mountains though. 16 hours on the bus, driving through the whole night. One would think there was no way we could’ve made it fun. But it was. Playing music, sharing snacks, and joking around. Of course, we all had our moments of sleeping with our mouths open,  or with our heads bobbing to the rhythm of the bus, but that’s also part of the charm.

Our days were simple yet perfect – wake up early, grab some coffee, and hit the slopes for the whole day. There’s nothing quite like the first runs down – carving through the freshly groomed slopes with that mountain air in your face. Some of us raced each other down the slopes, while others spent more time face-first in the snow, effectively eating it – and let me say, there was only so much snow we could spare! But let’s not forget – this ski trip was not just about skiing. Après ski was where exhaustion faded and the party spirit kicked in. From the first moment  we unclipped our skis, and stepped in the bar, the energy was unreal. The music was loud, and the drinks  were flowing. Despite skiing the whole day, we danced and sang along to the classics.

Then came the nights. After a full day of skiing, we had our fair share of wild nights, but we also had some laid-back ones—just  hanging out, playing cards, and soaking in the mountain vibes. There was also a night when we all gathered  for dinner, sharing a massive reservation where the food was as good as the company, and you eat, you  laugh, and share the day’s best moments with your friends. It was the kind of evening that made the trip  feel like home. On other nights, the vibe shifted. Some of us went all out with a cocktail tasting, ordering  drinks with the craziest tastes and weirdest names. For the rest of us, the night was all about competition – who could handle the spicy shots, who could chug beers the fastest, all for the best chance of winning.

The trip wouldn’t have been complete without the legendary room crawl, each room taking on its own  unique theme. We made signature drinks, crafted quirky trivia questions, and set up challenges to outdo one another. People went all out! The outfits were amazing, the drinks were creative, and the fun from it  all was even better, as we hopped from room to room, discovering new surprises and making memories at  every stop.

From there, the neon party took over. Everyone switched into their brightest clothes, glowed up with  bracelets and necklaces, and hit the dance floor as if we didn’t ski the whole day. The whole night blurred  into a mix of flashing colors, great music, and the kind of laughter that only comes after a full day on the  slopes and maybe too many drinks.

The beer pong tournament was the big finale everyone was excited for! It was a full-on spectacle. … It was full of adrenaline and heated competition. In some, this game brought out the best and the worst in them, shooting their best shots and knocking down the cups one by one. While others… let’s just say the cups were safe from their aim. Win or lose,  it did not matter! It was the perfect night.

It wasn’t all about the big events, though. It was about the small moments, too. The late-night talks, laughing until our stomachs hurt, and even getting our evening naps, exhausted after the whole day of excitement. These are the moments that stick with you, the ones you think about long after the snow has melted.

The day of our leaving arrived. We packed up our suitcases and went out savoring the last moments of the  French Alps before heading home. Some of us couldn’t resist hitting the slopes one last time, getting a few  more runs on the sunny day, while the rest of us decided to relax, and enjoy French meals and sipping on  hot drinks, feeling that mix of satisfaction and sadness about leaving. Everyone was happy, though a few  of us were sore, and some were battling a bit of sickness.

The ride back to Amsterdam was smooth. 16 hours after all the fun and physical exhaustion flew by  quickly.… We were all a little tired, a little sore, but we all agreed it was a trip we wouldn’t forget.
